With

Compassion, Understanding, and Non-Judgmentally

My passion is to empower you to regain control of your life and chart a better path for your future. Through insight and skills-based approaches delivered with empathy and understanding, you will learn techniques to break free from addiction and psychological struggles and develop the life you want.

My unique approach draws from a number of orientations including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a scientifically supported intervention that teaches you how to decrease the impact that your negative emotions and thoughts are having on your life in order to help you move towards your goals and values.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a scientifically supported treatment that teaches skills to manage painful emotions and decrease conflict in relationships.  Research has shown that it is effective in treating a wide range of disorders including substance dependence, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and eating disorders.

Motivational Interviewing (MI)

Motivational Interviewing is a client centered approach that helps people understand why it is so hard to change and helps them identify their internal motivation to decide and implement difficult changes.

Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT)

Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) was designed for the unfortunately common scenario of children engaging in harmful behaviors such as substance use and refusing treatment. CRAFT teaches parents how to use their relationship, communication, and environment to promote positive behavior change in their children.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) focuses on challenging and changing unhelpful cognitive distortions and behaviors, improving emotional regulation, and the development of personal coping strategies that target solving current problems.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems is a powerfully transformative, evidence-based model of psychotherapy. Internal Family Systems (IFS) increases self-awareness by exploring the different sub-personalities or “parts” of the mind and nurturing and deepening the connection to the self. The therapist and client work together to understand, engage, and reduce destructive parts of the mind, allowing clients to enjoy the peace and freedom of leading a self-directed life.
